Family portraits- are you ever to old to get cheesy shots with your siblings ?

Now when I think family portraits I immediatley want to run. Instantly the memories of my mother trying to squeeze me into a hideous dress, tacky pigtails and lets not forget the ruffled white socks that always itched around my ankles come into my head. As kids my sisters and I would always dread family shots. In my twenty-one years of life we only ever took three family shots and that was when we were all school aged.

Looking into now, currently my sisters and I have finished school with one in her last year of high school and my youngest sister about to finish her last year of primary school. Looking through old photos one night at home I realised there was no recent photos of my sisters and I. Thinking about the future I envisioned myself talking to my kids about the good times my sisters and myself had and than got sad because I had no photos to share.

The next day I thought 'why not' we won't always look this good LOL. So I got in contact with a close friend of mine and the rest was history. Not only were we able to give my friend more experience at taking family photos but I was able to bond more with my siblings. Working nine to five and growing up and all being at different stages of our lives we tend to lose touch. So this was an awesome opportunity to catch up.

Highly reccommend taking family/sibling portraits if you haven't had one within the last ten years. The difference you see in not only your appearance but the bond that comes across is definately something that can only be captured on camera. Lucky for me the amazing Junior who did a wonderful job. Make a day out of it- grab a bite to eat afterwards or catch a movie, before you know it you'll be out of home and wishing for more priceless moments such as these.
